JUST IN: Florida ranks as one of the best states for singles


Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and if you’re single in Florida, well, you are actually better off here than in other states. 

According to a new study by WalletHub, Florida is the second best state for singles. The website compared states on 27 key factors such as number of single adults, movie costs, nightlife options and online-dating opportunities.

California was the best overall state for singles, followed by Florida, New York then Texas. 

The Sunshine State also came in third for “romance and fun” and has the most restaurants per capita.

Deborah S. Carr, a professor of sociology at Boston University who helped with the study, said “singles should think about the activities they enjoy most, and then find a city that is a good match on that dimension.” 

And if you’re looking for that perfect Florida city to take a chance at love in, look no further. In November, WalletHub looked at the best cities for single adults. In Florida, the top five cities were: Tampa (11); Orlando (27); Tallahassee (41); Miami (49) and St. Petersburg (67).
