Getting better cell reception in Wellington? Here’s why


Feel like your AT&T cellphone has been getting a better signal in Wellington?

The carrier added a new cell tower in late December that boosted reception for the northeast parts of the village and areas along Southern Boulevard, near the Costco shopping center.

“We want our customers to have a great experience,” AT&T Florida president Joe York said in a news release. “They’ll be able to download, upload, stream and play games faster than ever before on our 4G LTE network — which is the nation’s best data network.” 

Last summer, AT&T upgraded more than 130 cell sites throughout South Florida, including several in Palm Beach County, a move the company said helped with speed and overall performance.
