Collapsed sewer main causes manhole overflow in Gardens

A manhole overflowed at MacArthur and Northlake Boulevards by the entrance/exit of the South Florida Blood Bank building Wednesday, the Department of Environmental Protection reported. A backup in the Lake Catherine subdivision caused the issue, according to a public notice.

A collapsed sewer main caused a manhole at the south entrance of the South Florida Blood Bank to overflow Tuesday, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection reported.

A backup on Sun Terrace Court in the Lake Catherine subdivision caused overflows at Northlake and MacArthur Boulevards, according to the notice.

The affected area is near the softball fields just south of Howell L. Watkins Middle School. It has been cleaned and disinfected, the department reported.

The collapsed gravity sewer main is being replaced, according to the department’s notice.
