3,000 Lake Worth utility customers lose power for 2 hours today


Lake Worth experienced a power outage Thursday morning that affected 3,000 customers after a car hit a pole onLake Worth Road between Gulf Stream and Davis Road, the city said.

The outage occurred at 6:31a.m.

The electric utility dispatched a team which temporary fixed and restored power to all customers by 8:31 a.m.

Further repairs will be carried out later today, the city said.

“We sincerely apologize to all customers affected by this outage,” City Manager Michael Bornstein said in a statement. “I would like to commend the electric utility team whose quick response allowed us to fully restore power within two hours of the initial accident.”
