Boca Raton High School drama students to stage ‘Moon Over Buffalo’


BOCA RATON HIGH

The Drama Department will present “Moon Over Buffalo” at 7 p.m. Oct.12-14, with a 2 p.m. matinee Oct. 14. Performances are in the school’s Kathryn Lindgren Theatre, 1501 NW 15th Court. SPACE OF MIND SCHOOL

The school is partnering with the Delray Beach Historical Society for the fourth annual Halloween Fall Fest, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 20 on the historical society campus, 3 NE First St. The free event will include a haunted house, costume contest, games, a bake sale and refreshments.

The Palm Beach Poetry Festival has launched its annual high school poetry contest. Students can submit one original poem, 30 lines maximum, for consideration by Dec. 1. The winning poet will receive $200. Four runners-up will each received $100. For details, visit www.palmbeachpoetryfestival.org.

Higher Standards Real Estate Co. is sponsoring the Hispanic Women in Business Scholarship. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one Hispanic female pursuing a degree in business at any college or university in Palm Beach County. The deadline to apply is Dec. 1.

All school district students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch through Oct. 20 due to the impact of Hurricane Irma. Breakfast is always free in Palm Beach County, but for the next month, the district will also be providing lunch at no cost.. Complete meals must be selected in order to be provided at no cost. Snack items will be available at normal prices.
