A 32-year-old Port St. Lucie man was sentenced to life in prison on numerous child pornography charges.

Law enforcement officials said that in addition to distributing large amounts of child porn over the internet to adults and children, Scott Joseph Trader recorded himself sexually abusing girls entrusted to his care; one was only 2 years old, according to a news release from U.S. Department of Justice.

Trader also coerced dozens of minors to send him child pornography through social media apps. The images among his collection showed sexual abuse of infants and toddlers, sadism and masochism, and bestiality.

Trader’s criminal activity took place as early as November 2014 and continued through May 2017. He pleaded guilty to the charges.

The case involved Project Safe Childhood, which was launched in 20016 by the Department of Justice as an effort to better identify, locate and apprehend people who exploit children.
