Michael Hoskinson allegedly punched the victim twice in the ribs around 12:30 a.m. Nov. 2 causing him or her to fall over and injure a wrist, a police detective wrote in an arrest report obtained by the Tampa Bay Times; the child’s gender and age were redacted from the report.

Detectives added that Kimberly Hoskinson also pushed and yelled at the child. Two classmates witnessed the confrontation, according to the report.

Hoskinson has been principal at Coleman Middle School for about 30 year years, and his wife has worked occasionally for the school district as an assistant teacher since 2013, The Tampa Bay Times reported.

Neither have had complaints filed against them at the school district, according to a district spokesperson.
