Who he is: Cleve Mash is the president of Mash Management, which oversees the operations of several local restaurants and bars, including Dirty Martini in Palm Beach Gardens and Dr. Feelgood’s Bar & Grille in West Palm Beach. Mash made his first splash in the nightlife pond with the super-successful Monkeyclub on Clematis Street in 1997 in the space now partially occupied by Feelgood’s, and will open J.R.’s Buckwild Country Bar & Nightclub at the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott in the next few months.
Mash was named after his grandfather, Cleveland, a boat captain who passed a week before he was born. Born in Hialeah, Mash moved to Palm Beach County with his family in 1981, when he was 10 years old. “PGA was a two lane road and I-95 ended at PGA,” he laughs. He graduated from Palm Beach Gardens High School, and went to Palm Beach Atlantic on a soccer scholarship. His mother still lives in the house he was raised in.
