The Plaza Theatre wants to be taken seriously as a regional theater, by producing distinctive shows of quality. But their latest nostalgic cabaret, “You Made Me Love You,” is not one of them.
Featuring the songs associated with a trio of show business legends — Fanny Brice, Eddie Cantor and Al Jolson — the musical revue rolls out selections from the American Songbook between the world wars and invites the audience to do most of the work, dredging up their memories of those days, those tunes and those performers.
