Katherine Lee Borse was born in Chicago but moved to north-central Florida when she was in high school. Her “hippy spirit” – she became a vegan in 1996 when she was 14 — took her to Boulder, Colo., after graduation. “I missed the mountains, because I love nature and hiking and skiing.” In Boulder, she studied religion and philosophy, and she soon became interested in yoga and Chinese medicine.
In 2002, Borse moved back to Florida and began studying at New College in Sarasota. She got her bachelor’s degree in religion in 2003. Three years later, while in India, she decided to pursue a master’s in acupuncture.
