“Right now, I’m adding shadows that will pretty much give the effect of road rash – like my face got peeled off,” says Antonio Alonso as he dips a brush into his “Postmortem Palette” compact, stocked with colors like Aged Vein, Dead Blood and, his favorite, Liver-Mortis, a deep purple.
“I’m pretty good with scarring. … It’s knowing what belongs where on your anatomy,” says the 34-year-old Miami special-effects makeup artist as he applies reds and yellows to his cheek “so it looks like my cheekbone is exposed.”
