Tony Award-winner Faith Prince recently led a master class for fledgling college acting students, where she described the process of building a career like it was building a house. Both need a strong foundation, and important decisions have to be made all through the construction — what to add when, which features take priority over others and how to decorate. Both are a work in progress. And even though she built her career differently than others may have, when she surveys her work, she likes what she sees.
“I love my house!” enthuses Prince, whose in the midst of a two-week stint at the Colony Hotel’s Royal Room. “You know, I think if you’re not happy, you’ve got to change it. It’s such an interesting time for me. I’ve reinvented myself four or five times, but I’m still as impassioned about it as I was at 25.”
