It’s appropriate that my favorite gelateria in town is named after Capri’s serenity-inducing Blue Grotto. I may be more than 5,000 miles away from Capri, but I’m just a short drive from Gelato Grotto. It’s the grotto that offers respite – and unbelievably good, made-fresh-daily gelato – after a rush of deadlines.
Earlier this week, I savored this medium cup ($5.20) heaped with coffee gelato (which is made with Lavazza espresso and Italian chocolate-coffee crunch bits), and crowned with a Tyrrhenian Sea wave of the most delicious roasted almond gelato around. Serenity restored.
