Any area trio making a living exclusively through music is beating the odds, let alone a band five pieces or larger. Yet the 20-somethings in West Palm Beach act Spred the Dub (spredthedub.com) have built a growing fan base since 2007 by downsizing and thinking outside the box.
The group’s style is a reggae/dub/ska mix culled from influences including Bob Marley, James Brown, The Clash, The Slackers and John Brown’s Body. Its unusual house gigs include Mondays at Longboards in West Palm Beach, and every other Thursday at the Mellow Mushroom in CityPlace.
