bullet here “Harmony” (today, 7 p.m., Frank Theatres CineBowl & Grille, 1 hour, 24 minutes.) — Director Dana Lustig gives us a disorienting but enjoyable mood piece about a woman’s efforts to correct her past in order to save her future. Fans of time-travel yarns or “Twilight Zone” episodes are likely to be drawn into this puzzle film and satisfied by it, even if it never really explains itself.
Mia (Jodie Whittaker) tries to dispose of a box of her mother’s possessions, but it is mysteriously returned to her. She is even more perplexed when an old woman falls to her death from atop Mia’s London apartment building, clutching a torn photo of Mia’s ex-lover (Dougray Scott). So she takes an elevator down into her past to try to avoid the heartache of becoming that old lady. Just go with it, and appreciate along the way the intense performance of Scott and the enigmatic presence of David Warner as the mystical elevator operator. Grade: B+
