A recent visit to the Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach for a private reception with inaugural poet Richard Blanco took us to the most exclusive spot at the resort – the Commander’s Suite, the 3,456-square-foot space better known as the Presidential Suite.
This $6,000-a night suite is where President Obama stayed during a campaign swing through Florida in July. We don’t know how many of the amenities in the two-bedroom, 3-bath suite our commander-in-chief had a chance to enjoy, but we do hope he spent a little while in the swanky billiard lounge. The glowing onyx bar, tricked out with a trompe-l’œil rendering of fishnet-clad legs in hot heels, seems made to order for the Secret Service detail.
