A lot more than pasta at Carrabba’s Italian Grill

MENU

Italian-inspired appetizers, salads, brick-oven pizza, chicken, veal, seafood and, of course, lots of pasta are on the menu here, dressed up in a variety of sauces.

ATMOSPHERE

Warm and sophisticated, with dim lighting and a direct view of the chefs hard at work in the open-air kitchen. Tastefully decorated with warm colors and wood, it has a slightly modern but cozy feel. Bar area is especially inviting.

OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE

The chicken parmesan ($18.49) was moist and tender, with a tasty breading and pomodoro sauce and lots of gooey cheese on top. Carrabba’s grills its meat over a wood-fired grill, infusing a delicious smoky flavor. The meal was served with a cup of soup or house salad and a side item. I chose the cavatappi amatriciana, a corkscrew pasta with red sauce. It was a tasty, satisfying meal.

REASON TO GO

Tasty, authentic Italian food in a rich setting. Unlimited baskets of freshly baked bread were served with pesto sauce, a mixture of basil, olive oil, garlic, cheese, nuts and parsley. Food portions were big enough that we brought leftovers home.

SERVICE

Very good. Even though the restaurant was busy, the bread and dipping sauce were served right after we were seated, and the soup and salad were delivered within a few minutes of ordering. The waitress was friendly and efficient.

NOISE LEVEL

Moderately quiet, with a low level of modern music playing.

KID FRIENDLY

Children get their own activity menus here, with neat stuff to color and cool foods like chicken fingers, pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, ravioli and chicken.
