A 50-year-old Port St. Lucie woman was arrested Wednesday after she was allegedly found rummaging through the closet of a neighbor’s home, police said.
Sherry Renee Logiudice is facing charges of burglary and attempted grand theft.
Logiudice lives across the street from the victim on the 2200 block of Southeast Mandrake Circle, east of U.S. 1 near Savannas Preserve State Park. She was found going through the victim’s belongings by another neighbor who was watching the residence while the homeowner was away visiting friends, according to a police report.
Logiudice told police that she was watching the the residence for the homeowner, but the victim said Logiudice is a drug addict who lives across the street and did not have permission to be inside the home, the report said.
Logiudice entered the home through a rear sliding glass door.
Logiudice was taken to the St. Lucie County for booking. She had been released from jail Sunday on an unrelated grand theft charge and was out on bond, according to the report.
