West Palm police: Man injured in shooting near Palm Beach Outlets

A man was injured Wednesday morning in an apparent shooting near the Palm Beach Outlets, city police said.

Officers came to the Malibu Bay Apartments off Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard just after 8:30 a.m.

The man had injuries that are not considered life-threatening and was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, police said.

Construction workers nearby said Wednesday that at about 8 a.m., they heard what they later learned were gunshots.

They said they then saw two men run from a building at Malibu Bay over a nearby canal and into a gray car driven by another man.

The trio fled northwest to Palm Beach Lakes, said the workers, who asked not to be identified.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Detective Robert McGinley at 561-822-1689 or Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 800-458-TIPS (8477).
