UPDATE: Woman left brain-dead by west Boynton crash ID’d, PBSO says


8 a.m. UPDATE: Investigators have learned the identity of the woman and were reaching out to her next of kin late Wednesday, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

The office did not immediately release the woman’s name.

Original post: The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help in identifying a woman who is brain-dead and on life support at Delray Medical Center after she was struck by a vehicle Sunday in Indian Spring Country Club in suburban Boynton Beach.

The woman is described as being between 40 and 60 years old with brown hair and brown eyes. She is around 5 feet 3 inches and 145 pounds and was wearing a baseball cap, gray sweat pants, a black T-shirt with a colorful design by Christian Audigier, a red Fila sweater, a tan jacket and bright pink Nike sneakers, according to PBSO.

The woman has at least one denture plate and was wearing two rings.

Investigators were unable to locate any missing person at the time of the crash that fits the woman’s description.

The woman does not appear homeless, according to PBSO.

The crash took place on El Clair Ranch Road, north of Green Golf Lane, at about 6 a.m.

Frank Schwartz Jr. of Margate was driving a 2013 Nissan that struck the woman. Schwartz remained at the scene and called 911.
