Police: Palm Beach man bites woman during argument

A Palm Beach man has been arrested on a misdemeanor charge of battery after police said he bit his girlfriend.

Jason Edward Blood, 48, and the victim returned home at about 10 p.m. Wednesday following an argument at dinner, according to the arrest report. They went to their apartment on Hammon Avenue, where the victim asked Blood to go somewhere else for the evening. Blood asked for his set of keys to the residence but when the victim refused to give them to him, he grabbed her left hand and bit it until she let go of them, according to an arrest report.

The woman told police Blood also pushed her, according to the report. The bite was deep enough to break her skin and cause bleeding, police said.

The woman called police, and Blood confronted responding officers outside the apartment. He told them there was no reason for them to be there, police said.

Blood told officers he didn’t bite the woman, police said.

Blood was arrested on a battery charge and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail. He was released on his own recognizance on Thursday.
