Police identify man killed in West Palm Beach shooting

PBSO: West Palm man knocks shrimp platter into pregnant woman’s face

A West Palm Beach man was arrested early Nov. 20 after he reportedly knocked a plate of shrimp out of his pregnant girlfriend’s hands and into her face, a Palm Beach County sheriff’s report states.

The pair were in a South Bay motel on U.S. Highway 27 arguing over personal matters, the woman told deputies.

Maurice Davis, 26, knocked a plate of shrimp out of her hands and into the left side of her face, she told deputies. He then pushed her in an effort to remove her from their motel room.

Deputies noted that the woman, a Belle Glade resident who had lived with Davis for three years, didn’t have any visible injuries. She did, however, ask to be seen by medics because she was six weeks pregnant with Davis’ child.

Davis charged with battery on a pregnant woman and is being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on a $4,000 bond, jail records show.
