NEW: 88-year-old man killed in West Palm-area wreck

An 88-year-old man is dead after a three-car crash last month just outside the West Palm Beach city limits, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s authorities said.

A 2017 Chevrolet Camaro slammed into the driver’s side of Yefim Bogomolsky’s 2004 Suzuki Aerio the afternoon of Nov. 19 on Okeechobee Boulevard near the intersection of North Military Trail, about two miles from Bogomolsky’s home, sheriff’s authorities said.

Ana Alvarez, 26, of Haverhill lost control of the Camaro while she was heading east on Okeechobee and hit a median. She then steered right, hitting the Aerio that was heading west. The Aerio crossed over the median and hit the driver’s side of a 2017 Volkswagen Passat, which a West Palm Beach teenager was driving.

Neither the teen nor Alvarez were injured in the wreck.

Bogomolsky died Nov. 28, more than a week after the crash. Records indicate he was wearing a seat belt at the time, as was his passenger, 87-year-old Lidia Bogomolsky.

She sustained minor injuries.

Records do not indicate whether anyone will face charges in the fatal crash.
