The victims from a double murder Sunday in Boynton Beach have been identified as 24- and 21-year-old brothers, according to a probable-cause affidavit made public Tuesday by the Palm Beach County Clerk & Comptroller.

Malcolm Frederick and his younger brother Jamal Frederick were shot multiple times by Joseph Bruny Jr., 26, following a dispute over drugs, according to Boynton Beach police.

The Frederick brothers were the 99th and 100th confirmed homicides in Palm Beach County during 2017, according to a Palm Beach Post online database.

The shooting took place on the 200 block of Northwest Third Avenue, north of Boynton Beach Boulevard and east of Interstate 95, at a home listed in court records as Malcolm Frederick’s residence. Police found the Frederick brothers lying face down in its carport.

Bruny told police he shot the men after they threatened him with their own guns. But the report states that the brothers were both shot in the back.

Bruny is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond.
