NEW: Girl, 14, charged as adult in Martin County car burglaries

Deputies arrested a 14-year-old girl on Friday night after a Martin County Sheriff’s Office helicopter caught her burglarizing multiple cars in a Martin County neighborhood.

Mirla Kroll is being charged as an adult on felony charges of burglary and theft, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.

Footage from the helicopter shows Kroll, checking for unlocked cars in the residential neighborhood of Shore Terrace and burglarizing the vehicles, according to the sherriff’s office. Deputies said they were patrolling the area with the helicopter after getting reports of a female burglar the night before.

Footage showed a female juvenile accompanied Kroll to the neighborhood during the incident, but “remained in the street,” according to the sherriff’s office. That juvenile was not arrested or charged, but deputies notified her parents.
