What began as a Hobe Sound traffic stop ended with a Stuart man’s arrest on drug charges last week after Martin County sheriff’s deputies say they found 10 pounds of marijuana in his car.
Deputies arrested Glen Theobald, 24, on Thursday after finding the marijuana in 10 vacuum-sealed, 1-pound bags in the trunk of his black Hyundai Elantra, according to an arrest report. He faces of a charge of possession with intent to sell. He was released Thursday night after posting $5,000 bail.
Deputies say Theobald was pulled over for driving 65 mph in a 55 mph zone at Federal Highway and Heritage Boulevard, between Cove and Bridge roads. When he rolled down his window, a deputy immediately detected the smell of marijuana coming from the car, the report said.
Theobald was removed from the Elantra and deputies searched it. They found two marijuana cigarettes and the 10 bags, the report said.
Theobald reportedly acknowledged the drugs were his and told deputies he was only selling it “to make extra money.”
