NEW: $23,000 reward in shooting death of Florida 2-year-old

A $23,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the shooting death of a 2-year-old boy who was sitting with his mother in the courtyard of a south Miami-Dade apartment complex Friday night.

A stray bullet killed Cornelle Williams-Thomas at the Arthur Mays Villas public housing complex. Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez urged the public to come forward and identify whoever is responsible, WSVN in Miami reported.

To be eligible for the $23,000 reward, anyone with information on the shooting can call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS and remain anonymous.

It was the second time a stray bullet killed someone in the Miami area in less than a week. A 43-year-old woman was killed in Miami Gardens last weekend in what police called a random shooting.
