South blotter: Man attempts to attack store clerk with full can of beer


BOYNTON BEACH POLICE

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Police arrested a man after he attempted to hit a clerk with a full can of beer at a store in the 800 block of West Gateway Boulevard. As officers took the man into custody, he tried to fend them off. An officer used a Taser to subdue the man, who was taken to the county jail.

VEHICLE BURGLARY

Miscellaneous change was missing from an unlocked vehicle in the 1300 block of Via De Pepi. The vehicle’s owner described to police a man seen pacing the sidewalk in the area prior to the burglary.

A window was smashed on a vehicle in the 400 block of Southwest Fifth Avenue and tools were stolen from within.

BURGLARY

More than $2,000 worth of tools were taken from an unlocked shed in the 1300 block of Northwest First Court.

DRUGS

A woman was found lying in a parking lot in Palmetto Greens Park. The woman was revived at the scene and taken to an area hospital. She and her companion told police they had injected heroin.

DISTURBANCE

Police shut down a block party with about 300 guests in the 300 block of Northeast 15th Avenue. The party-goers left the scene without incident.

THEFT

Two buyers and a seller who connected through the app OfferUp met to conduct a business transaction at a park in the 1900 block of North Seacrest Boulevard. The seller handed two iPhones to the buyers, both juveniles, and they took off running in separate directions.

SHOTS FIRED

Officers on patrol heard shots fired in the 1900 block of North Seacrest Boulevard. A search of the area turned up several shell casings near the basketball courts, but there were no suspects or witnesses.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY

A clerk at a store in the 500 block of East Woolbright Road told police a customer came up to her and demanded money. She said she shouted at him, telling him he was not getting any money. The man walked out of the store. Police were unable to find the would-be robber in the area.

BOCA RATON POLICE

DRUGS

Police arrested a 63-year-old man found in possession of cocaine and carrying a concealed firearm in the 200 block of West Camino Real.

THEFT

As a loss prevention officer watched, a known shoplifter selected a shirt and purse with a total value of $480 at a store in the 6000 block of West Glades Road and headed out the door. However, the shoplifter dropped the items as he fled into the parking lot.

Two teens were arrested and taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center after they were caught working together to steal $582 worth of cosmetics from a store in the 6000 block of West Glades Road.

A bicycle was stolen in the 100 block of South Federal Highway.

A license plate was removed from a vehicle parked in the 6000 block of West Glades Road.

FRAUD

Someone made 23 unauthorized transactions totalling $3,000 on the debit account of a resident of the 5500 block of Coach House Circle.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

The top part of a mailbox was knocked off its post in the 200 block of Northwest Second Street.

Graffiti was found in the 800 block of Northwest Spanish River Boulevard.

Someone keyed a vehicle in the 700 block of North Federal Highway.

BATTERY

A man reported that a bicyclist intentionally ran into him in the 600 block of Northeast Spanish River Road.

DELRAY BEACH POLICE

THEFT

Police arrested a 35-year-old woman who stole perfume from a store in the 1700 block of South Federal Highway.

A man reported the theft of his wallet while he was in a store in the 16200 block of South Military Trail.

A man was observed stuffing merchandise into a plastic bag at a store in the 400 block of Northeast Sixth Avenue. When he walked out without paying for the items, he was stopped and arrested.

A woman in the 300 block of Southwest 28th Avenue reported the theft of jewelry from her bedroom.

Magnetic business signs were removed from a vehicle in the 100 block of Southeast Third Avenue.

A man reported the theft of his cellphone in the 700 block of West Atlantic Avenue.

A contractor who was paid a deposit and money for supplies never returned to the job site in the 500 block of Southwest Eighth Avenue.

Two juveniles stole a purse hanging on the back of a chair at an establishment in the first block of East Atlantic Avenue.

A baby stroller was taken from the 1200 block of East Atlantic Avenue.

Three train sets were stolen from a store in the 1600 block of South Federal Highway.

ARMED ROBBERY

A woman told police a man pointed a gun at her head and stole her purse as she was walking in the 100 block of Northwest First Avenue.

DRUGS

A 24-year-old man was arrested in the 800 block of Southeast Fifth Street after he was found in possession of marijuana.

Police arrested a 28-year-old woman found in possession of pot and drug paraphernalia in the 3200 block of West Linton Boulevard.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A tire was slashed on a vehicle in the 200 block of Southeast Eighth Street.
