Man accused of pushing pregnant girlfriend tells deputies he’s ‘insecure’

Authorities jailed an “insecure” Tennessee man who got physical with his pregnant girlfriend while visiting Florida.

According to NWF Daily News, the unidentified 23-year-old man admitted to Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies that he disconnected his pregnant girlfriend’s phone in an effort to keep her from calling for help during a March 9 dispute.

“She is pregnant and I am insecure," the man told deputies, according to the NWF Daily News.

The victim claimed that she returned to a shared hotel room to find the man intoxicated and the couple began to argue. The woman alleges that her boyfriend took her car keys and her phone, and when she tried to use a landline to call 911, he disconnected the phone from the wall.

An arrest report obtained by the NWF Daily News also states that the man pushed the woman in the chest with his forearm when she attempted to regain possession of her cellphone.
