LATEST: Riviera man accused of sexually harassing teen for a year

A young teen reportedly has spent the last year dodging a 38-year-old man’s sexual advances. On Saturday, when Enrique Ramirez grabbed the teen’s buttocks, city police were called to intervene.

The teen had had enough.

The teary-eyed 14-year-old told police Ramirez frequently blew kisses and caressed the teen during the last year. The teen had begged Ramirez to stop, but the pleas fell on deaf ears.

The relationship between the teen and Ramirez is redacted from the police report, as are the locations of where the alleged abuse occurred.

Saturday was the first time Ramirez touched the teen’s buttocks, though he had caressed the teen’s back and shoulders multiple times, according to police records.

Desperate for the advances to stop, the teen called police, hopeful they could explain how uncomfortable the man made the teen feel.

The teen reportedly stays cooped up in a bedroom to avoid Ramirez.

Riviera police arrested Ramirez on Monday on a charge of lewd and lascivious behavior with a minor. The Guatemalan native is in U.S. Immigration and Customs’ custody, according to jail records, and likely will face deportation proceedings as a result of this case.
