A juvenile who crashed his car into a fence near Mar-a-Lago Friday evening was given a traffic citation and ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday.
The crash happened just after 6 p.m., prior to the arrival of President Donald Trump, who is visiting his Palm Beach estate for the weekend. According the sheriff’s office, the unnamed juvenile was speeding as he drove a Dodge Charger past the traffic posts on South Ocean Boulevard and crashed into the fence.
He was given a traffic citation for reckless driving. Due to his actions and statements, detectives from the Violent Crimes Division took him to the JFK North/West Palm Behavioral Health center in West Palm Beach.
It was not clear what type of statements he made.
