Guest rings up $7,500 in charges at resort, disputes credit card bill


BOCA RATON POLICE

DRUGS

A 26-year-old man was arrested in the 1000 block of South Federal Highway after he was found in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

THEFT

A laptop computer was stolen from an establishment in the 500 block of East Camino Real.

Landscaping tools were stolen in the 800 block of Oleander Street.

A woman was arrested in the 1000 block of South Federal Highway after she tried to steal $89.55 worth of cat food and cosmetics. She was released with a notice to appear in court.

A Nike bag was stolen in the 1600 block of Northwest Fourth Street.

A generator was taken from a construction site in the 800 block of Northwest 56th Street.

BATTERY

Police were called to a residence in the 700 block of Southwest 12th Avenue regarding a battery involving the homeowner and a utilities worker. The worker decided not to pursue charges.

FRAUD

A guest at a resort in the 900 block of South Ocean Boulevard stopped payment on checks used to pay for services and also disputed all credit card charges. The loss to the resort was $7,500.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A woman spray-painted “Free Us All! Disobey” on a wall at a shopping area in the 6000 block of West Glades Road. The incident was caught on security video.

Someone slashed a tire on a car in the 400 block of South Dixie Highway.

VEHICLE BURGLARY

Two bicycles were stolen from the bed of a pickup in the 2700 block of North Federal Highway. Total value of the bikes was $250.

BOYNTON BEACH POLICE

VEHICLE BURGLARY

Burglars found cash in unlocked vehicles in the 900 block of Greenbriar Drive and the 300 block of Northeast 12th Avenue.

A purse was stolen from a vehicle in the 1700 block of North Congress Avenue.

A man in the 300 block of Northeast 24th Avenue found an unknown man sitting in his vehicle. The man fled on a bicycle after the vehicle’s owner shouted at him. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY

Three men took a woman’s purse in the 400 block of West Boynton Beach Boulevard. The woman sustained minor injuries in the incident.

DRUGS

Police received several calls about an unconscious man on the sidewalk in the 800 block of North Seacrest Boulevard. Officers and paramedics determined that the man had overdosed on heroin, based on evidence at the scene. He was revived and transported to a hospital.

An anonymous caller notified police of a woman possibly shooting heroin in the parking lot of a business int he 700 block of West Boynton Beach Boulevard. Officers found the woman in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Her companion also was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were arrested and taken to the county jail.

After a vehicle occupied by five men struck another vehicle at a gas pump at a station in the 900 block of West Woolbright Road, one of the men jumped out to inspect the damage. His four companions drove off, leaving him behind. Police found him in possession of pot. A background check showed an active warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken to the county jail.

Police were called to the 1400 block of Southwest Eighth Street, where a man was slumped over the wheel of his vehicle. Police and Fire Rescue determined it was not a medical emergency. However an officer saw the man concealing a bag of heroin. As officers attempted to take the man into custody after arresting him, he resisted and was taken to the ground.

HOME BURGLARY

A burglar ransacked a residence in the 100 block of Executive Drive, stole car keys and drove off in the victim’s 1999 black Mercedes convertible.

Jewelry valued at $300 was taken during a break-in at a home in the 400 block of Southwest Seventh Court. The intruder broke a window on the back door of the residence.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Someone broke a window of a home in the 100 block of Northeast 13th Avenue.

DELRAY BEACH POLICE

THEFT

A former employee of a health-care facility in the 400 block of East Linton Boulevard stole morphine, oxycodone and tramadol.

A man’s wallet was stolen at a park in the first block of Southwest Fifth Avenue.

A man left his wallet on a gas pump in the 14600 block of South Military Trail. When he returned to retrieve it, the wallet was gone.

A woman in the 300 block of Northwest Seventh Avenue told police that four males stole mangoes from her tree.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A street lamp globe was damaged in the 100 block of Marine Way.

FOUND PROPERTY

A firearm was found in a rental vehicle at a business in the 2800 block of South Federal Highway. It had been left behind by the customer who turned in the vehicle.

COUNTERFEIT MONEY

A bogus $100 bill was passed in the 1300 block of North Federal Highway.

ANIMAL BITE

A woman in the 900 block of Dotterel Road was bitten on the hand by a chihuahua she found.

DRUGS

Police arrested a 26-year-old woman in the 1900 block of West Atlantic Avenue who was in possession of drug paraphernalia and more than 20 grams of pot.
