BREAKING: Man injured in South Bay stabbing to face battery charges


One of the men injured in Tuesday night’s stabbing will face charges in the attack, Palm Beach County sheriff’s officials said.

Trevor Gordon, 49, is accused of fueling the fight on Southeast Fourth Avenue, near East Palm Beach Road, that sent both men to a hospital. Records show Gordon lives in that neighborhood.

Sheriff’s officials found a man shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday in a yard with multiple stab wounds to his torso, records state. Gordon was in the road bleeding from an approximately four-inch cut to his head.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue officials said both men were flown to a hospital for their injuries. Neither man’s condition is known as of Wednesday morning.

Gordon told sheriff’s officials the man attacked him with a machete, so Gordon reportedly ran into a house and grabbed knives, which he threw at the man as the man followed him.

Multiple witnesses told officials Gordon instigated the fight. Gordon reportedly stabbed the man multiple times with a folding pocket knife.

Once Gordon is released from a hospital, he will face an aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charge, sheriff’s officials said.
