Nearly four years ago, TBC Corp. and Digital Domain both received state incentives as part of an outpouring of $42 million to nine private employers that promised to hire workers in Florida. But the similarities between the two companies end there.
One difference? The amount of the state incentives. TBC Corp., the parent of the Tire Kingdom and Midas chains, in 2009 received $400,000, a fraction of the $20 million lavished on animation studio Digital Domain by Gov. Charlie Crist and legislative leaders.
