More than six weeks ago, the U.S. Coast Guard revoked the Monarch Empress’s clearance to leave the Port of Palm Beach, and it’s been a difficult time for the ship’s owners.
“There is a lot of competition,” said Cindy Lou Teeters, a corporate officer of Monarch Shipping Ltd., which owns the 300-foot cargo vessel and two other ships. “We can’t give our clients an answer as to why this is happening.”
