Florida Power & Light Co. customers should be charged $17 million in pre-construction nuclear costs in 2014 for two reactors proposed for Turkey Point near Miami, the Florida Public Service Commission’s staff recommended Thursday.
The commission is scheduled to vote Oct. 1 on the costs for the proposed reactors, known as Turkey Point 6 and 7, and for roughly $27 million for completed expansions of FPL’s existing reactors in Miami-Dade and St. Lucie counties.
