Unprecedented home price gains nationwide in April were also reflected in South Florida, where a double-digit surge marked the sixth consecutive month of increases, according to the nation’s leading home price measure.
Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties saw prices on single-family homes jump 13 percent in April from last year as recorded by the Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller index released Tuesday. The index also noted a 2.4 percent increase in the tri-county region in April from the previous month, marking the largest monthly gain in more than seven years.
