Florida Power & Light Co.’s 1960s-era Port Everglades Power Plant in Hollywood is scheduled to be demolished on July 16 to make way for a new, $1.2 billion high-efficiency plant, the company said Wednesday.
The plant in Broward County will be the third 1960s-era plant the company is converting from one that burns natural gas and oil to a facility that uses solely natural gas.
