The go-to headhunter for higher education was quickly scratched off FAU’s list of presidential search consultants Monday after trustees groused that its previous picks included former president Mary Jane Saunders and former provost Brenda Claiborne.
Dallas-based R. William Funk & Associates, which was used to find the last Board of Governors chancellor and such other noted leaders as former FSU President T.K. Wetherell, was among three final candidates considered to find Saunders’ replacement. Saunders resigned as Florida Atlantic University president in May after a semester rife with bad publicity. Claiborne followed in July.
