Unemployment rates in Florida and Palm Beach County continued to fall in August, although that glimmer of good news was tempered by the grim reality that job seekers are still dropping out of the work force.
Palm Beach County unemployment dropped to 7.5 percent in August, down from 7.8 percent in July. But there were about 1,000 fewer people in the county’s official labor force in August than the month before, according to statistics released Friday by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
