Local activists defied the rain to champion worker rights during a May Day rally Wednesday afternoon in Delray Beach.
Hoisting signs with “Unions built the middle class” and “May Day The Birth of the 8 Hour Movement,” MoveOn Council of South Palm Beach organizers and stalwart groups like the Raging Grannies gathered from 4-6 p.m. at what they call the “peace corner,” the sidewalk in front of Old School Square at the corner of Swinton and Atlantic Avenues.
