Former Disney executive Donald C. Robinson will help run All Aboard Florida, the private passenger rail service being developed by Florida East Coast Industries to run from Miami to Orlando in three hours. It will also stop in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.
Robinson, who will buy trains and develop operational functions for the project, ran hotel operations for all of Disney’s Orlando resort complex and helped open the Paris and Hong Kong parks, was named president and chief operating officer, according to a news release.
FECI President and CEO Vincent Signorello said Robinson’s appointment as well as promotion of P. Michael Reininger to president and chief development officer “solidified” the executive team for All Aboard Florida. Reininger also worked with Disney.
All Aboard Florida has purchased land at Datura and Evernia streets by the FEC Railway corridor in downtown West Palm Beach and plans to have trains running by the end of 2015.
