The number of Floridians producing energy from their own renewable energy systems, such as solar photovoltaic panels, jumped 33 percent in 2012 to 5,296 systems, up from 3,994 in 2011, the Florida Public Service Commission said Tuesday.
Statewide, electric generation capacity from these systems reached 43,805 kilowatts, up from 29,259 kilowatts in 2011.
