Cushman’s Fruit Co. landmark store on Forest Hill may be closed for good

Cushman’s fruit company closed for the season, but it may be the end of the family’s long standing store on Forest Hill Boulevard.

Started in 1945 by Ed Cushman, the fruit stand at 3325 Forest Hill Blvd. ultimately became a big fruit shipper, specializing in packaging local citrus for transport to friends and family in the colder climes. But once the signature honeybells are gone after the new year, the store closes down.
