The Airport Center will be renovated with bed tax reserves to enable the tourism agencies to move into government buildings, a cost-cutting move called for four years ago.
The Tourist Development Board, Convention and Visitors Bureau, Sports Commission and Film and Television Commission are housed at the Regions Bank building on Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard. Back in 2009, county commissioners decided the bed-tax funded agencies needed to move from the now $483,000-a-year offices into a less expensive space, like the Airport Center beside the Hilton Palm Beach Airport on Southern Boulevard, or the government center in downtown West Palm Beach.
