Boy, 12, shot in Boynton expected to recover

A 12-year-old boy who was shot Saturday afternoon is expected to make a full recovery, according to reports.

Boynton Beach police say the boy was injured in a shooting in the 1000 block of Northwest Fourth Street. Nearby, at the Cherry Hill Mini Market, three men attempted to shoot at other men in the area, police said witnesses reported Saturday.

The child was skateboarding down the street from the market, his grandmother told WPTV, when he was struck by stray bullets. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover fully.

This was the 10th shooting in the last 20 days in Boynton Beach.
