The beerfest of champions: Funky Buddha’s Maple Bacon Coffee Porter Festival returns this weekend

It’s that time of year! Funky Buddha Brewery is rolling out its ‘breakfast in a glass’ craft beer brew. 

The Oakland Park-based brewery hosts an all-out festival Saturday to mark the limited bottle release of its popular Maple Bacon Coffee Porter.

The beer became a hit when it was released at Funky Buddha’s original brewery in Boca Raton in April 2011. It would come to be rated the world’s second top porter by, and the top sweet stout by And in 2015, the beer was selected by People” magazine as one of the country’s best.

Also on tap at the festival will be more than 100 specialty brews by Funky Buddha and guests. There will be live music, street foods served up by local food trucks, and food available from Craft Food Counter & Kitchen.

When: Saturday, Jan. 13, 2017  from 1 to 5 p.m.

Where: Funky Buddha Brewery, 1201 NE 38th St., Oakland Park

Details: Admission is $55 for general admission, $115 for a four-bottle ticket and $235 for a 12-pack pass. Any bottles left unsold will be released to the public in the brewery’s tap room on Sunday, Jan.14.

The brewery is also throwing a Maple Bacon Coffee Porter Hangover Brunch Sunday, Jan. 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $55 and includes an unlimited brunch menu, plus special release beers on tap for additional purchase.
