Hot new pizza restaurant opens in downtown West Palm

Downtown West Palm has a lot to offer. But one thing missing is a ‘fast-fine’ pizza joint. Not anymore. The California-based MidiCi chain (tagline “The Neapolitan Pizza Company”) opens Friday on Clematis Street.

“Pizza is not meant to be just eaten, but shared among friends and family,” said local franchise owner Pedro El Khaouli in a press release.

The restaurant promises to serve affordably-priced pizza in an upscale, fast-casual setting – MidiCi, in fact, prefers the term “fast-fine.”

MidiCi’s focal point is nicknamed “the heart” – that’s what the company calls its curved, centrally-placed open kitchens where pizza-makers assemble the pies.

The eatery serves traditional Neapolitan-style pizzas which are baked in 90 seconds in a wood-fired oven imported from Naples.

As part of the restaurant’s grand opening, all ‘guest friends’ – the term MidiCi uses to refer to customers – will receive a free Margherita pizza with the purchase of a Neapolitan pizza from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 26 through 28.

MidiCi, pronounced Mee-Dee-Chee,  will have daily specials, and a happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m.

Starting today, the eyes of golf fans at PGA National will be fixed on the players competing for millions in prize money at this year’s Honda Classic. A quarter sheet pan is plenty big enough to hold all my love

Nobody would mistake me for being hip and trendy. I have been wearing clogs - not the same pair, mind you - since the Ford administration. Yet I am YASSing and inserting heart emoji on behalf of the quarter sheet pan, which is surfing a wave of popularity. Deservedly so. There it is on social media, roasting a one-pan meal for two. Toasting a handful...

The upscale, second-floor spot offers build-your-own bowls, sandwiches, salads, spreads, breads and...
