Happy National Pumpkin Day: Best pumpkin patches to visit in Palm Beach County


Today is the day to celebrate the orange orb, the pumpkin. Happy National Pumpkin Day. Picking out the perfect pumpkin for carving or for your favorite Halloween decoration is lots of fun.

Here in Palm Beach County we have lots of pumpkin patches for you and the kiddies to stroll through to find the perfect one. 

Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market, Boynton Beach

Bedner’s goes all out for fall! The market is open year round, but they break out special fall festivities for the entire month of October. Along with an amazing pumpkin patch, on weekends they offer hayrides, a corn maze, bounce houses and petting zoos.

Carson United Methodist Church, Delray Beach

For more than 20 years Carson United has been bringing out rows and rows of pumpkins and this year is no different! The annual pumpkin patch benefits several local nonprofits as well as the longtime church. The pumpkin patch opens Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and runs daily through the end of Oct.

Trinity United Methodist Church

The proceeds of Trinity’s pumpkin patch provide support of the youth ministry at Trinity UMC. Visitors can join the fun by participating in the pumpkin unloading where members of the church, students and parents join together to unload the pumpkins and place on the church’s front lawn.

Community of Hope

Community of Hope, previously known as Good Shepard United Methodist, is offering two pumpkin patches this year, one located at their east campus and one at their west campus.

Enjoy fresh baked pumpkin break and other baked goods while picking out your best pumpkin.

East campus site Oct. 4 through Oct. 31 9 a.m to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

West campus site: Oct. 1 through Oct. 31 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Pumpkin Towne

With locations in Jupiter, Wellington and Stuart, this pumpkin patch offers fun throughout the county! The pumpkin patches open Oct. 10. When you’re done picking your favorite pumpkin, enjoy a bounce house, hay bale piles and a merry-go-round. Check Pumpkin Towne’s website for hours and more information.

Family Life Ministries (Our Lady Queen of the Apostles)

The pumpkin patch opens Oct. 15. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sundays. A “Family Fun Day” will take place on Oct. 28 from 2 to 6 p.m. featuring games, face painting, a live princess, carnival food and trunk or treat.

St. Peter's United Methodist Church

St. Peter’s Pumpkin Patch runs Oct. 1 through Oct. 31, Hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sundays from noon to 8 p.m. and Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to noon. On Saturdays, gourds, pumpkin bread and apple butter will be available for sale and these special events will be held: 

  • Painting in the Patch: learn from a professional artist how to paint your pumpkin; $10 for adults; $5 for children. Oct, 7, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Gardening in the Patch: learn about gardening and how to plant pumpkin seeds. Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon.
  • Movie in the Patch: “Spookley, the Square Pumpkin” will be shown on Oct. 28 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Hope Lutheran Church

Hope Lutheran Church’s pumpkin patch opens Oct. 6. Enjoy this decorated patch until Halloween, October 31. The patch is open daily from noon to 8 p.m.

Boca Pumpkin Patch Festival

The festival, which takes place Oct. 14 and 15 at Mizner Park, will feature 2,500 pumpkins, a cornstalk maze, scarecrow dress-up activities, unlimited carnival rides, live entertainment, a pumpkin food court, and pumpkin beer bars (for adults). Cost is $15 and tickets can be purchased here.
