All the Italian favorites can be found on the menu, including appetizers, soups, pizza, subs, paninis and pasta. Dinner entrees include chicken, veal and seafood dishes. Other options are chicken wings, salads, Philly-style cheesesteak, gyros and wraps.
It’s a pizza shop, with a busy take-out counter, but there are some tables and chairs if you wish to dine in.
OUR FAVORITE FOOD/PRICE
I loved my house favorite panini ($9.95), with grilled chicken, sauteed spinach, roasted red peppers, prosciutto and mozzarella. Served alongside this delicious meld of flavors was a generous serving of pesto pasta salad. That alone would bring me back to Al Forno — it was so good. Everyone enjoyed the large pizza ($12.95), half of which was topped (at my request) with tender slices of eggplant ($1.50). A meatball sub ($8.50) and a large Caesar salad ($7.50) rounded out our order, and both were tasty.
REASON TO GO
Great food — lots of choices — at very reasonable prices. Make sure to try the pesto pasta salad.
The employee at the counter was helpful as I perused the menu before ordering. Everything was perfectly packaged for take-out, and the order was accurate.
Not an issue for me, as I was taking home my food. If dining in, expect some foot traffic.
Little ones will find plenty of menu items to enjoy. In addition to pizza and pasta, there are chicken tenders — always a favorite with kids.
